Current COVID-19 Information

Dear YMCA Members and Participants,

As of Monday, March 16 at 7:00 pm the YMCA of Western NL is taking a necessary step to temporarily close all facilities in response to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

This includes:

  • Humber Community YMCA
  • Bay St. George YMCA
  • All Child Care and After School Locations

The closures are in compliance with recommendations by the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Premier to aggressively manage physical distancing in public places to prevent community spread.

All YMCA Western NL facilities are closed to the public, and all rentals and recreation-related programs and services are cancelled. Our Child Care and After School Programs are also closed.

No further payments for programs or services will be taken until the YMCA of Western NL resumes services.

The YMCA of Western NL exists to help create healthy communities. This temporary closure is a precautionary step to ensure our communities stay healthy.

This closure is not taken lightly, as it directly affects people who use our services. As a ‘people first’ organization, we will be supporting our teams through this transition period. Please know that the YMCA of Western NL considers this closure the best way we can serve the community at this point during this global crisis.

We will be using our website and social media channels, when the time comes, to deliver a reopening timeline.
